A tiny pony is something which we take for granted but is exceptional e.g. airplanes, televisions, mobile phones. It is something which sometimes only certain people can see and appreciate. It is an aspect of someone’s personality that no one else knows…
In other words, it is something that has lots of potential for writing about!
Possible Form: creative writing, discursive/reflective.
You could write a story about something no one else can see – a 6 foot rabbit, a crack in a wall, a spaceship… the list is only limited by your imagination.
Alternatively, you could write a story about someone with a secret… a character trait or interest that no-one else is aware of…
Discursive / Reflective
In this case, you need to think of your own ‘tiny pony’. This needs to be something that is so ubiquitous that we don’t really notice it… something like music, or water, or the mobile phone. If you choose this option, you need to identify the ‘tiny pony’ then explain or argue why it is so exceptional… whilst also considering why we take it for granted.
